We meet in Guwahati and drive into Arunachal today. It is going to be a long journey from Guwahati. Our stop for tonight will be Bomdila. It is a great place to affiliate yourself with the terrain and the culture and you must do so today!
Our journey to Tawang continues today. However, before we depart, we attend the first prayers in the breathtaking Bomdila monastery. Post breakfast, we continue to Tawang. Journeys in this part of the country are long, but rewarding. Enroute, we will be crossing Sela Pass - a high altitude pass at 4170 m above sea level. Evenings can be used to walk around, eat steaming hot momos and basically relax.

With its reverberating chants and quiet mountain-scapes this monastery is your first stop at falling in love - with yourself and with the region. Post breakfast, we continue to Tawang. Journeys in this part of the country are long, but rewarding. Perhaps that is why such journey's are meant only for the true explorers with the toughest hearts. Today, we are doing a walking tour of this Buddhist hinterland and yes we are spending a good part of our morning at the second largest monastery in the world and the most important one for Tibetan Buddhists in this country, The Gaden Namgyal Lhatse Monastery. Our morning is spent with little monks, exploring the intricate architecture and secret mysticism of this place. Post lunch here, we head to the war memorial and the towering Buddha point in the town.
We head to Sangti Valley today and put up with a hunters family. Sangti Valley is cut off from the tourist circuit. Arunachal is divided into numerous tribes, the folks in Sangti are a major part of it. Here we will be staying at a traditional homestay. Evening, for sunset, join us by the river side, for a quick swim, some freshly plucked apples and kiwis and a campfire under the stars.
This morning, post breakfast, we head to Kaziranga. This day is all about the road again. Enroute, we will be stopping for washroom breaks and refreshments. We check into our hotel in Kaziranga and rest this evening.
We head out for a sunrise safari in the Kaziranga national park today. With our expert guides, we will be riding a jeep into the jungle, witnessing it wake up. Kaziranga is famous for its one horned Rhino and other indigenous birds.. In the evening, we will head to the orchid park for a traditional Bihu performance.
We will be departing post breakfast for Guwahati today. This journey can take anywhere between 4-5 hours including breaks. Please book your flights post 17:00 PM today in case you wish to fly out the same day. Else, you could head out for sightseeing in Guwahati as well and fly out the next day.
