As you know Himachal is a land of wonders. The quaint villages, fruit orchards, lush landscapes and every breath of fresh air is a blessing in disguise for any city dweller. However, over recent times, all the popular tourist circuits have gotten waaay too commercial for our senses. So we have decided to backpack through a completely off beat village in Himachal. Somewhere between Shimla and Manali, two of the most popular destinations in this state, there are numerous valleys that are unnoticed. We have picked one for its amazing snow capped mountains, great hiking trails, apple orchards and the cutest people. Hop on!
Drive out from Delhi. Overnight in a comfortable AC volvo bus. The journey will be long (about 10 hours and you must come prepped for the same!)
Reach Aut and drive out to our destination. The drive from Aut to our cottage is about 1 hour. This will be a winding one and will pass through the beautiful Beas river, some sleepy hamlets and lush greenary. Once you reach the village, we check into our cottage which is set amidst apple orchards. Today, we just chill and rest. In the evening, we head out for a sunset walk.
Our main hike happens today. We will be hiking to a plateau and waterfall. This hike is easy, through the wilderness and will take us through some interesting spots. We return back to the cottage this night for some much needed rest. Post Dinner, we will chill with songs and dances, under the stars!
Our day starts late today. Post a heavy breakfast, we head to the markets and then upwards to a hilltop temple. At this hill top, we will be having our picnic lunch. Post the lunch, we descend, freshen up and its time to leave to catch our bus back to Delhi. Overnight bus journey today.
After an overnight travel, we reach Delhi early this morning. Grabbing our favorite breakfast of Kulches and chole is mandatory before we depart back home. Those booking their flights back to their home cities, consult us regarding the best options for you!
